It was the Best spa my Dad bought for the money! He bought it back in 1999 and its Still Going Strong! We just had to replace the heater so whats that tell you, 14 years of hard working! The spa still looks brand new. even though its about tyme to replace the vinyl on the cover is getting dry rotted, coming apart on the zipper area. duck tape is working okay. lol

Great Hot Tub But We Need a Little Help with the Ace System

We bought our hot tub 3 years ago. We love it. It is very comfortable. We love the lights, the adjustable jets, pillows and ease of cleaning it. The only problem we have had is the Ace Salt Water System. We had someone come out twice. The first time, they weren't sure what the problem was. This last time they said it was the "salt water sensor". They said it would cost about $300 to clean it and about $1200 if we had to replace it. Can someone please help me here? Thanks.

Ace salt system hasn't worked right for 6 years...

This is the second Sovereign that we purchased new. The first one developed multiple leaks after 10 years. But we purchased another one anyway. We were talked into the Ace salt system instead of the Ozone system. What a mistake! First of all, we are sitting in chlorinated water! Yes, it's "naturally created" by the Ace system but chlorinated none-the-less. Second, we have lost count of the number of times that the salt cell has been replaced under warranty and even for free one time out of warranty. Now it will cost $850 or we can get it converted to the ozone system for about $350? I don't see how a company can stay in business with this level of quality.

My wife and I have thought about purchasing a hot tub for a few years now, and I wish we had done it sooner. We love our Sovereign! I only wish our busy schedules and crazy work hours allowed us to use it more often, but we use it every chance we get. Our dealer was fantastic and is helpful anytime I have a question, delivery was quick and professional. Don't wait like we did, buy one now!

My Tub was only 1 year Old and the finish of the Tub has Crazed and tiny cracks in the glaze. When I asked about Warranty I was not given any answers but only Ignored.
I paid over $10,500.00 for my First Hot Springs Tub and I was Very Happy With it. This NEW Tub I paid $18,000.00 for It and Nothing but a waste of Money. The Copper finish is Failing, the Jets constantly fall out and the Remote has Never Worked from Day one.
Cant Believe that Hot Springs would make this and not look after me after buying over $28,0000.00 in Tubs from them .

Have loved our Hot spring Sovereign since the day we purchased in 2003. well worth the money as we enjoy year round, daily relaxation and calming "water therapy". Had to replace the heater this past spring and now we need to replace the cover and cover lifter ( cover mate 1)....Can you help us out? Want to get it ready for our cold Massachusetts winter. Thanks for a great product !

We loved our hot tub, at first. Now 7 years later all we have is a mosquito pond. We have replaced the cover 3 times, the pillows rotted, have had it worked on by hot springs dealer, the heater and/or entire tub kicks off randomly so we never know if it will be ready or a cold disappointment. Are they built to fall apart in 7 years so you have to buy a new one? It hasn't worked at all for 2 months, and only because of that we realized it was costing us $100.00 a month to run, NOT the $15.00 a month we were told at the time of sale. We thought we were buying a solid, energy efficient tub, I don't think so now.
WHEN it works, we absolutely love it (other than the cost). It is a comfy style, and we used it daily until everything started breaking and malfunctioning. I am really sad that the tub didn't last, I miss it.

This model replaced an older version (13 years older) of the same model. We elected to change to the ACE salt water sanitizing System. This newer version is wonderful and recquires much less maintance issues and no chemicals other than what is needed to adjust pH of the water. The lighting system is very nice and easy to operate and is an upgrade from the older spa. The outer shell is much nicer and easier to maintane.

My husband puchased a hot tub for my retirement present. We have come to the conclusion that I should have retired long ago and purcheses the hot tub sooner. We love the spa. I have found that it is a wonderful place to get some ab crunches and arm/leg resistance pulls done. We have a meeting tonight and are both so tempted in not going so we can spend that time in the hot tub.

We love the relaxation and rejuvenation experienced by moments spent in our spa. The Silk Balance water system simplifies water care and leaves our skin feeling oh-so-smooth, too! We have had a spa in every house that we have owned. The Hot Springs Spa is simply the best. Our model has everything we need, it is spacious and easy to use and maintain.
We started with the original Classic and after a move we had another spa that was installed by the prior owner. When we purchased another house we bought a Sovereign model and I was so pleased with that one that we purchased another when we sold that house and moved to where, again, we have a Hot Springs Spa Sovereign model and we love it!! We would have taken the Sovereign with us but, of course, the new owner fell in love with the spa and so we left it behind.
There was never a question about replacing the first Sovereign when we moved. We knew that we could rely on Hot Springs Spa for quality and easy maintenance. The installation people were great and gave us a lot of tips on placing and using the spa since there were improvements we did not have on our original Sovereign. They did all the work and it was ready to use four hours after set-up. That is a very quick warm up from cold to very warm considering the amount of water and a very cool day.
The Sovereign has different jets for every seat. It is also large enough to float on a summer day. I love the quick temperature control and easy access controls in the back for lights and jets. The main control panel is very easy to use.
Now that we have the spa, we will be able to finish the landscape to suit! :)

The jet software is written to automatically time-out after two hours. If any other buttons were pressed during that time, the timer begins counting again and will turn off two hours after the last button press.

I Also love my sovereign Hot Tub Spa. I have a question, do the jets shut off automatically like the clean cycle or do they run constantly if you were to walk away while running. I ask because mine is 6 years old and does not shutoff and a switch may have gone bad. Thanks

We bought our Sovereign 2 years ago and it still gets used at least 4 times a week. The water stays clear with very little maintenance and it is the perfect place to spend some quality, uninterrupted, quiet nights. We will definitely continue to recommend Hot Spring Spas to our friends, some of them have already bought their own Hot Springs. A great purchase, not once have we regretted investing in our spa.

This spa is a life saver for me. I have arthritis and a daily soak relieves the pain and improves my flexibility. After a nice long soak and water therapy I am able to move around so much better and the pain level is greatly improved. Anyone who has arthritis should definitely consider a Hot Springs Spa.

We have owned this tub for 2.5 years and it is great when the ACE system does function properly (which in our case is not very often.) We are on our 4th (and last) ACE cell in that 2.5 years. We are switching to a chemical tub because of the replacement cost of the cell and its lack of service life. Yes, we have hard water, but the tub is filled with soft water and cell cleaning is done more often than recommended. At the current service life of the cell, we would spend more on replacement cells, then we did for the entire tub, before it is out of warranty. I absolutely would not recommend the ACE system to anyone.

Another failure for the ACE system

Another year and a half , and another ACE cell has failed. Watkins has replaced this twice out of warranty which was great, but it has failed again. I was told the service life of the cell is 18-36 months. I wish my dealer had told me when I bought it, that I should expect to spend $800 every 2 years or so on new ACE cells. Switching to chemical tub. I just hope my experience can save someone else money by avoiding the ACE system.

I've got to hand it to Watkins....they have done all they can to make it right! After a few emails were exchanged, Watkins sent out parts to my dealer to replace the non working and not up to date components on my ACE system, at no cost to me! I can not make any complaints about customer service. So far 1 day in and my ACE system is working again. Hopefully the upgraded control panel will help it last this time! Thanks Watkins, I look forward to using my Sovereign again!

Love the salt system - so much better than chlorine. Only complaint is the lounge chair is a bit deep. ( Wife is shorter.) Like that you set temperature and leave it. Can then use tub whenever you want. With salt system only change water 2x's per year. Was a great purchase. Love soaking after a long day!

Traded our Chlorine based tub for a new salt system Hot Springs tub. No more skin issues!! Water lasts longer too. And more energy efficient. Set the temp once - and leave it! Old tub had to be turned up each time. And this one came with a cover lift - no more struggles with the cover. My only complaint is I am short and the lounge chair is to deep for me.
