They come and drop it off- no instructions from them- cannot get wires in spa to connect- very poorly manufactured.

Freshwater Salt System has a major issue
sjcpilot

Since owning my Flair for about 8 months now, we have gone through 4 Salt cartridges. Each one should have lasted 4 months, which definitely is not the case. They burn out quickly and don't really even produce testable chlorine. I have mine set on 7 which was recommended by the manual for the Flair model. I have not found any detectable chlorine each time I test. Always have to substitute with bleach or Di-chlor, but don't add too much Di-chlor or you will get cyanuric acid lock and you won't ever have chlorine again until you dump the tub. Overall we've spent crazy money on replacement cartridges for them only to fail rapidly and not produce any chlorine. The hot tub overall has been good, it maintains temperature and the jets are strong. However we have had a jet break and need fixing by the dealer within only a month. Also a jet pump failed from the factory and needed replacing too. Overall, I am very disappointed with the Salt System.

Thank you so much for reaching out to us and sharing your experience so far. We strive to create a relaxing experience and when we hear issues like this, it concerns us. The salt system should be producing chlorine and the cartridges should be lasting around 4 months. I will be sending you an email shortly to see what we can do to help. Thank you again and have a great day!

Do not purchase the Salt System
UnhappyCustomer

The Salt System is a waste of your money and I have had numerous emails back and forth with my sales/support team on this issue. It does not produce the chlorine as noted, we are constantly running the boost and STILL adding granulars to the water for chlorine. If I let the system sit with out any added chlorine, the water turns cloudy and then green. Each time we use the tub, test strips indicate little to no chlorine, and we have to add. The salt system cartridges burn out faster than noted by the sales team. A one year package of cartridges were used up in 6 months that we owned this tub. We have cycled the water in the tub 4 times since owning this tub in April (this review is being made in beginning of Dec. Almost every 2 months we have dumped a full tub and added fresh water.) IN seven months of owning this system, I have used up 13 lbs of granular chlorine, including four full tub drains. This is not what I expected when purchasing this hot tub. I thought Hotsprings was a Cadillac of tubs... not an average tub.

Absolutely Correct...Salt System is Garbage!!
Posted January 3, 2021
I had the exact same incredibly frustrating experience with the "freshwater salt system" on my Limelight Prism spa!
The system simply does not work as advertised: it does not produce sufficient chlorine to sanitize the hot tub, and therefore requires the owner to supplement with chlorine granules...thereby defeating entire purpose of purchasing the system; AND, the salt system cartridges last at best ~2 months, versus the 4 months advertised, requiring the owner to purchase double the amount of cartridges annually at significant cost of +$600 a year...again for a system that does not even work.
I tried working with both Watkins and my dealer, and neither could rectify the issue, even after salt system control module was replaced, which leads me to the conclusion that design of the salt system is fundamentally flawed.
After giving up on the salt system and disabling, I finally found the simple solution to sanitizing my hot tub: install a properly sized ozone system!
As a prospective buyer, please do not waste your money, time, and aggravation on the flawed Watkins "freshwater salt system"!! And, for the unfortunate owners of the salt system, give up on it now and get an ozone system!!

This is our first hot tub and we think it’s fantastic. We’re so glad we went with the HotSpring brand. My husband does the maintenance and it’s been a relatively quick learning curve and not overly time consuming. There are a ton of options in each seat as far as the jet placement and ability to increase or decrease the intensity.

The hot tub is great and we love the salt system. The only issue that may help future buyers is that so many of the seats, especially the lounge, sit so low for shorter people that it makes it difficult to actually sit in a regular position and enjoy the jets. I am only 5’2 and I end up having to use my legs to boost me up to try to make use of the jets. The lounge is impossible to recline with all the jets without being under water. Otherwise we love the spa!!!!

Love the new hot tub already. Still learning all the chemicals and filters etc. but that will come in time. Little more maintenance than I thought it would be, but again, still a great tub. The jets are strong and relaxing. The lights are cool at night. its quiet when heating, and so far really haven't seen much change in our electric bill. The salt water is amazing. The only bad thing about it is getting out!

I love my new Flair hot tub. It is truly a spa with 46 jets. The 36 in deep is perfect for getting those shoulders. The jets are strong and can work the pain out off all your muscles. The up keep is so much easier than I thought it would be. Leisure Depot was great to help out with hiring the electrician and easy install. After all my research, I thought the Hot Springs was the right spa for me. I was so correct !!! The sales team at Leisure Depot were and still are so helpful with what chemicals and other questions That I had. Thank you to the sales team, warehouse team and and especially my install guys. They made it so easy, professional, and helpful !!! I have had it for 6 weeks and still get in every evening to unwind and relax. The salt system leaves your skin so soft and no chlorine smell on your body. Easy to Water Care.

We previously had (and loved) a hot tub from Wind River Spas in Denver, Colorado and sadly our Hot Springs hot tub doesn’t live up to its own hype let alone compete with the beautiful spa we had before.
The Flair is nice, but lacks many of the creature comforts a more thoughtful local manufacturer can provide. It’s clear these are made for mass distribution with the thought that if they create a spa that 95% of the people will be happy with and market it well, they will get positive reviews and be profitable. Unfortunately for us, we are left looking for more.
When we received our spa it didn’t function due to wiring problem from production. It was a quick fix once the service team came out, but still very inconvenient. In addition, pieces have broken off from 2 different jets in the first month of use. This is not what I would expect from one of the top rated spa companies and I am nervous that we will encounter more problems with this spa as time goes on. Sadly, I have to say that I would not recommend Hot Springs to my friends or family.

I shopped for 2 years before I bought a spa and was skeptical when I saw over 2k reviews for the Flair. Went to my local spa dealer, Pool Source in Cranston RI to check it out. He had sold the floor model! He recommended it and I ordered one. It's been running without a glitch for 4 years. I use almost daily and sometimes twice on Sunday! :) I've been in other spas and nothing compares to the Flair. Every seat is a good seat.
The only thing missing is a timer, I bought an outdoor Atomic clock from Amazon and hung it under the deck (to protect from weather). I note what time I get in.
Easy to maintain. Cover is holding up well and good insulation. Love it most during the winter, sub zero nights in Rhode Island.
Looking forward to many more years1
