Great advertising and hype, poor quality product.

I have had my tub for approximately 2 years. The "branding" is great in that they really hype their product; however, the quality of the actual product does not match. I have found that the service, particularly with regard to the Watkins parent company, is terrible. I am currently on my third cover in two years, and have had to have the exterior panels replaced six times. Each time, approximately three months after the replacement, the cladding bows to the point that the corners fall off. Additionally, the sliver rings to the jets are rusting, and the exterior portions of the acrylic tub itself are cracking. The only solution offered up to this point is for Watkins to remove the tub and bring it back to the factory to work on it...which will take 4 months! They have only been willing to pick it up during the winter...which in Arizona is the prime time to use it. They also state that the problems are due to the heat...but they sell and market extensively in Arizona. If this tub cannot take the AZ environment, they shouldn't be sold here. Typically, the services people are nonresponsive for long periods of time. DON'T BUY ANY PRODUCT FROM WATKINS!

IQ system is a dud

We had our Beam delivered with the new IQ system and paid a lot more for it. Sadly the water testing doesn't work since install, the technician can't fix it, they have no one that can and the tech admitted they rushed the product to market when it is not "ready". The convenience sounds great but it doesn't work, they can't fix it and they have no one on staff to come look at it as they are stumped. Lemon here we come....

Good hot tub, but surprisingly low build quality for the price point

I’ve just installed the hot tub so I can’t really speak to its ongoing usage

There were a bunch of details that were really disappointing when installing it
First of all, there is a wooden block as part of the shipping clip that completely blocks conduit coming into the hot tub, so I had to hack that thing apart

Next up the front panel clip system is very awkward and not that reassuring

The material of all the side paneling is quite brittle and flimsy, and I honestly worry that it won’t stand up to the Riggers of people using it and accidentally knocking it with your feet

When reattaching the front panel, the screws very poorly lined up with the holes behind them, and I’m fearful that I was forced to cross the thread it simply to reassemble

Horrible time with communication

The local sales team was horrible with communications. I ended up paying more than we agreed due to this. They show up to install and are unable to even after I sent pictures of the wiring and was given the ok. So now I’m stuck with a couple hundred in wire I did not need and no working hot tub.

One of the Best things I ever purchased

I have always enjoyed Hot Tubs when staying at Hotels but never owned one until just recently. I bought the Salt Water system tub and it is fantastic. It is super easy to take care of and feels wonderful on a cool day or after doing yard work. The filters are easy to clean and I rarely have to add anything to the tub to keep it balanced. So far my electric bill has only gone up about $40 (may be a bit more during winter months). This surprised me, I thought it would be much higher so I am very happy about that. If you have been on the fence about purchasing a hot tub, I highly recommend purchasing a Hot Springs tub ASAP so you can enjoy it as much as I am.

We absolutely love our hot springs beam Hot Tub. It is so easy to take care of and it is luxury at an affordable price. I personally get it every single morning and it has helped my overall mental health and well-being. I have wanted a Hot Tub my entire life and so …. Now at the ripe age of 36 I pulled the trigger on the purchase and it has been so exciting to finally get to live my Hot Tub dreams. Worth it!!

Our spa was installed on a new concrete slab which has a construction tolerance of 1/8 to 1/4" deviation in the surface. This was totally unacceptable as the spa frame had small gaps and did not sit 100% flat 0n the concrete. This resulted in having the spa moved and the contractor grinding the high spots. It's concrete and never going to be 100% flat! As the owner, I had to purchase plastic shims and install them as the Spa installers and contractor refused. It was that or move the spa again get charged for a return to install and a possible charge by contractor to return. Everything has tolerances, period! I called Hot Springs and was told there was zero tolerance.

The Beam Hot Spring spa has been a true joy. It has been effortless to maintain. Excellent comfort. With back issues the spa has been therapeutic and relaxing after a workout or golf. Can't believe its taken me this long to realize the this spa has become a way of life, wish I would have purchased years ago. The reps at Creative Energy were very friendly & attentive even offering to visit my home & walk me thru the set up & maintenance; however once I purchased the spa & on the day of delivery were too busy to talk more than a minute or two about my questions on set—up and said they were too busy to come check it out once installed and I would have to make an appointment to talk or meet with them ffurther, my spa is now locked for some reason, does not work and I believe I have a lemon - very disappointed to be treated like this on such an expensive purchase

After our Limelight Gleam developed an unrepairable crack. The crack was first reported to our dealer, Richard's Total Backyard Solutions near the end of the warranty (2019 and 2021). Watkins said perhaps slab was unlevel greater then 1/2" - it was not (but this is a very tight tolerance). Watkins said it appeared someone may have jumped in spa - we did not. Watkins agreed to replace it with a Beam since Gleam was no longer available. They said it was equivalent. Watkins definition of equivalent is a joke. Was 8 person - now 4. Was 550 gallons - now 295. Was about 38" tall - now 33". Was blue tooth wired - now none. Were multi-function jets - now on or off. Had a recliner - now none. We had a Grandee a long time ago for 15 years and loved it. We loved our Gleam until the leak occurred. The Beam is embarrassing compared to what we had. We paid too much money if Watkins believes the lifespan of our spa is reasonable. Beware of Watkins and Richard's Total Backyard Solutions if you have a warranty problem.

It's been a few years since we had a hot tub...but this is our first brand new one. After all factors will thrown in, we chose the Beam as we liked the overall simplicity of the design. Now that it is in, we know we made the correct choice.
What has made this spa particularly special is that I use it every morning to do exercises. The warm water and shape of the Beam are well suited to my routine. Every evening before retiring to bed, my husband and I enjoy a quiet soak while we dissipate our day's problems. The Beam is well-designed for comfort and plenty of jet options. Fortunately, we have solar panels to help lower the cost of heating the water. We couldn't be happier with our choice.
