The led lighting housing breaks. Took them over 3 months to fix. Once I got it back they started breaking again. Very frustrated that this is happening on what was sold to me as a top of the line spa.

Difficult to maintain

First, we love the hot tub. It is beautiful and such a joy after a long day at work. That said, when we bought our Grandee salt water tub, we were told that it would be virtually maintenance free. This could not be farther from the truth. We have had it for 3 total months and it has never made chlorine. We have had to drain it and refill it, we’ve had techs out twice and our less than 4 month old tub refuses to function as advertised. I’m starting to believe that the whole fresh water salt system is a sham. I have to add chlorine to the tub every time we use it. It simply does not work. I don’t regret our purchase (yet) but I am sick of fighting with this thing. If you do buy one, don’t buy it for the salt water system. Get the ozonator or whatever it’s called and plan to add chlorine...

I feel your frustration...

We had the same issue for over a year!! We went all the way to the top with Hot Springs with no resolution... VERY FRUSTRATING!! My husband finally found a person in the same situation ....it was a product the dealer sold us to use that had phosphates in it.... that was the culprit! We had our hose water tested...no phosphates, yet the spa was showing very high levels.... check your products and get rid of the phosphates.... once we did we have kept the levels excellent with ease.... read the labels.... you will love the salt system once this issue gets worked out. Good luck!

Great spa but water balance is a challenge

The Grandee is well made, high quality and comfortable. Our only issue is that it has been 6 weeks and we still can't get the water balanced. The techs are coming out later this week to figure it out. I will update after their visit.

Salt system

I purchased this spa a few months ago, the initial quality of the spa is good but don't buy this spa for the salt system like I did. The salt cell only lasted 1.5 months and the cost to replace is about $75 to $100 each. That's $600 per year on the low end. In addition, every time you fill the spa you will have to make sure the water is softened and add new salt, both of which adds additional cost (if you are a heavy user of the spa you will likely replace the water every 2-4 months). You will also likely have to add additional chlorine periodically as the salt system generates very little chlorine.

Ugh-salt water system

We have had our spa since November 2020. The salt
water system is not working correctly! We have had to replace several cartridges, drain the spa, refill, and replace filters. The spa has not produced and natural chlorine, and not doing its job to clean the tub. The touch screen monitor has been replaced has well.
Been dealing with our local dealer since Nov and still no answers.

Constant issues with saltwater system

I've had my Grandee since October and have had nothing but issues with my saltwater system. Its supposed to be easy but it is not. I say this as a commerical pool operator. Cartridges have lasted 3 to 4 weeks instead of 4 months. Have been working with service department for 2 months and it's still not resolved.

We have been manufacturing hot tubs for over 40 years. While we don't claim to be the least expensive, we know we have one of the best spas in the market. Many of our customers have their spas for decades and enjoy hot water therapy daily.

As the manufacturer, we financially support the warranty while the local dealer will be the ones to execute the service. The warranty covers parts and labor.

As it turns out, dealers have sole discretion to set actual prices, which will vary based on options, accessories, installation costs, destination charges, finance charges, taxes, and other local factors. Talk to your local dealer for your local price and to take advantage of ongoing promotions and offers.

Third Generation Grandee

This is our third Hot Spring Grandee since 1989. Our Grandee is a big part of our lives. Our children are now 28 and 24 years old. At 4-6 months old they were in the Grandee learning to swim, my wife was a swimming instructor with infants. We are now getting close to having grandchildren, they too will learn to swim in our new Grandee. Living on a lake in Northern Michigan it is vital that each generation is comfortable in the water.

Love the hot tub and the size of the Grandee. Would not have wanted anything smaller. It is just the two of us but it is heaven on earth. We have had it almost two months and in it everyday. So relaxing and the massage spots (King and Queen) are awesome. It is a rolling wave of water massaging your back. Love all the controls so the strength of the stream can be regulated. Feels so good in the Texas Fall weather. Love it...Love it...gotta have one.

excellent tub

My first Hot Springs Tub also a Grandee lasted 20 years! That's right 20 years. The only maintenance we ever did was to replace the heater and covers which I did myself.
As for the new one, the simplicity of the unit is great, jets are still the same after so may years. My only concern is the new technology. Is it really going to stand the test of time? The hand held controller, not a fan, not sure why controls just aren't on the unit. Already experiencing some lag when trying to turn on. Have also replaced the salt chlorinator for the firs time and it keeps wanting to test it and telling me it's time to replace. It's only been 2 weeks so I know it just didn't reset.
Other than that future concern, the tub is awesome. Cover could be a little thicker but good enough. Hope this tub lasts another 20 years!

We have had quite a number of spas in our life and this is by far the best one we have had. Love the jets and the power of the pumps. Sometimes we have to turn the pressure down, which is pretty unusual for us!

Jets are awesome, design of lights and features are great, easy to maintain. Use it everyday! Love high quality products and this spa meets my high expectations. Would like to be able to raise temperature beyond the 104 degree limit on occasion.

So far, so good! Minnesota is great place for a spa. Easy set up and easy maintenance. Recommend an outdoor heater between your outside door and the spa!

Purchased this spa about 2 months ago . Salt water system. Honestly took about 2 weeks to get the water right. But since then has bin a breeze to take care of. Family loves it ! Extremely happy with the purchase!! Purchased this spa st the Eatontown dealer . They were absolutely great . Not pushy, gave great advise on everything we purchased. Highly recommend them !

Yikes, that is rotten luck. I am sorry to hear the spa is having this electrical issue so soon after arriving; though, this is good the spa is within its warranty for repair. Look out for an email from me directly to check that all is being addressed for your spa to work properly.

This is our fourth hot tub. Very easy to monitor, it almost takes care of itself. You’re paying a little bit more for this hot tub, but after you own it you understand why
