Hot Spring needs to get the Salt meter/monitor fixed - Not Happy with it

About 2 years ago I purchased a Hot Spring Grandee hot tub with the ACE salt system, and have had nothing but issues regarding the salt levels. I have gotten used to seeing the blinking yellow light on the outside of the hot tub indicating that I do not have enough salt in the hot tub. I have had the people who sold it to me come out on three different occasions to look at it. Every time, they explain to me that the issue is the hot tub is not clean enough for the salt system to work properly. The last time I emptied all of the water out of it, washed the filters out, and refilled the hot tub with clean water out of the tap. I put in the necessary 9.5 cups of salt and chlorine to get the levels to the specified levels per the instruction manual. Again, within 3 days, I see the blinking yellow light. I have merely gotten used to the fact that I cannot consistently have a green light on this hot tub despite putting the proper amount of salt in the system. It seems to me that the manufacturer has not ironed out all of the kinks as it relates to the salt level in the ACE salt system. If I had to do it all over again, I would not get this kind of hot tub and certainly would not get an ACE salt system. This stress reliever has turned into nothing but a frustrating pot of water sitting on my deck. Be sure and do your due diligence before buying.

Awesome hot tub

Comfortable seating, wonderful jets and just a superior product. I like the salt water system. We have had it two weeks and it has been tricky getting the chemical levels correct. I went by the force initially but broke down and read the online how to and believe I have success. The remote is a bit tricky at first but have almost mastered it. I didn’t understand the salt boost or level, but again read directions. I had the level set too low and boosted it up .
The tub is definitely on the high end and I am hoping it will last ten years in our Florida climate. It is on a covered lanai.
My only real complaint is the delivery process. We didn’t get our start up package and I felt on my own to figure it out. Luckily Doug made it right. One of our filters was used so he replaced it for us.
My advice is to read the manual, even if you are a male, lol and follow the directions. You will feel like you have a chemistry degree once you are skilled at water testing
The speaker system is good tho I can’t get the volume as awesome as it was in the store. Probably because it is outside. The cover is easy to handle even with our bad backs

Freshwater system doesn't function correctly

I purchased my Grandee spa July 2019 and was thrilled to have a freshwater system as my pool uses a salt generator as well. I have had nothing but issues since day 1 with there system not properly sanitizing the water. We have tried all kinds of "fixes" recommended by my dealer and hot springs to no avail. Over a year later, I still need to use alternative sanitizing methods to get clear water and a chlorine residual. I have spent more time and money on chemicals, going to the dealer, and attempting to get the situation rectified. I read the great reviews of the freshwater system and ours couldn't be more opposite. The worst part is nobody can give me an answer. I even purchased water because at one point the issue was my well fill water. NOPE. ...tub still not working properly. I truly don't know what is more frustrating...the tub not working or Hot Springs not attempting to fix my issues.

Have you thought about putting an Rv sand water filter ... about $20 at an Rv store to fill up your tub. We used one for camping. If you only use for your hot tub, it will last years. Just place on your hose
Also, I learned the 24 hour salt booster worked like a charm. In addition I turned the level higher to 5 which also helped keep the sanitizer level up. Good luck

We love the verity of jets. Each seat offers a different experience. The hot tub looks great and is easy to care for. The lighting options are great. The jets have high and low settings for one side but no low setting on the other. It would be nice to have low settings on both sides. It was an expensive purchase so we hope it will last for years.

THE GRANDEE WAS THE BEST INVESTMENT WE EVER MADE!

We purchased a Highlife Grandee on May 2nd. The entire experience was outstanding. The store manager was very knowledgeable and probably had spent a total time of over three hours answering our questions and educating my wife and family on hot tubs. There was no high-pressure sale schemes and he made us feel very at ease in the purchase process. We had previously done our research and had made many visits to other dealers and looked over many models. I would advise that prior to purchasing a hot tub that everyone first sit in it to make sure that it feels comfortable. I am 6’3 and my wife and boys are also tall.
It took three weeks to deliver the Grandee but it was expected because of the high demand and the current Corona Virus-19 circumstances. Once the Hot Tub arrived from North Canton the four installers were very professional and courteous. (They even arrived half hour early on a Saturday early morning)
Overall it took about 3.5 hours to set up the EZ pad and install the hot tub. The installers were very patient and answered all of our questions on the maintenance and care of the hot tub and the Fresh Water Salt system.
Our family on average have used the hot tub 5 / 7 days per week. It totally relaxes you and I can say that using it prior to bedtime it is by far the best night's sleep ever!

Absolutely Amazing!!

We’ve had our Grandee since 1988 and I like it more now than when it was initially installed!
I won’t lie, we have had to replace both pumps, the heater and added an Ozonator to avoid doing the chemical chase to keep the water chemistry balanced but it is wonderful to slip into the tub whenever you need a massage or float in the warm water staring up into the night sky realizing how fortunate you really are to own one of the world’s greatest stress-reduction devices ever invented!
I am 76 years old and will use my HotSprings Spa until the end.

Love our spa HATE the Freshwater system

We purchased our spa 10 months ago with a freshwater salt system. We LOVE the spa but HATE the salt system. It is extremely difficult to maintain and we have had nothing but problems with it. We cannot keep chlorine maintained in it. We have talked to the local dealer until we are blue in the face with no success in fixing our problem. I would never suggest the salt system to anyone.

We bought our hot tub from Seven Seas in Cranberry township. We purchased it right before everything was shut down for covid -19. Everyone was very helpful especially Leann. It seemed like it took forever to be delivered but with everything being shut down they really got our spa delivered as soon as they could. I had many questions about chemicals which I quickly got answered. We had a bad breaker and our spa kept losing temperature due to the breaker kicking. The hot springs tech guys arrived quickly and switched out my breakers. Spa has been perfect ever since! If your considering purchasing a life altering spa, these are the people to see and hot springs is the brand you want to buy. There's nothing like soaking in your hot tub each night to unwind and relax. My only problem is I never want to get out and I wish we would have bought it sooner.

I just bought the Grandee NXT. First thing...it's big! I'm 6 foot tall and I sit up to my neck in the tub. Great jets, so strong I sometimes get pushed off the seat. The lights are nice as well. There are many seats and options for someone who might want a different type jet. Running both motors at the same time, really stirs up the water and gives a fun experience. Two large foot jets are available, but not to everyone. Mostly these are for the two main massage chairs in the tub. I also got the cover lift and the Sunbrella cover instead of the vinyl one. Living in the desert I also got the Cool Zone box, which is on order but not yet installed. Fingers crossed. It's getting hot outside.

Not a great Investment

We purchased our Grandee hot spring hot tub in 2016. Within a yr the door to the filters broke. Within 2 yrs the salt water system stopped working and it was VERY expensive to replace so had to convert to Chlorine tub. Within 3 yrs of purchase side panels fell off and cover got water logged and sagged into tub. Only 2 yr warranty on cover (of course). They did come out and put the side panels on for a cost. :(. All though it is comfortable and we do like going in it, for the cost and he hassle, it is not worth it.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. I am sorry that some of these things were not communicated to you at the time of purchase. But you bring up a great point, and I would like to help.

The warranty for your spa has different time frames; those details are listed on our website. The filter door is something that would be covered under the five- year portion of the warranty.

The salt system, like any water care system, has a life span. For the ACE salt system, it is about two years. Using the water care program that is best for you is perfect. Chlorine is a great way to keep your water clean.

The cover does have a two-year warranty. Sometimes the cover will begin to absorb moisture and get heavy. Some people will use a cover shield product to protect and keep the cover clean; it can prolong the life of it. When it's time to replace the cover, it is best not to open it with the lifter. The lifter is designed to assist you when opening the cover. It is not meant to handle that kind of extra weight and, in turn, can pull out the siding.

I am glad that the dealer was able to reattach the sides, and I hope also explained what happened and how to prevent it in the future.

After much research, we went with three Grandee. What a wonderful spa! The Moto jets are fantastic, and we love how easy it is to adjust the jets and pressure. With many aches and pains, I feel better and sleep better after some time in the spa.

We’ve had this hot tub about two months and it seems every other day it goes into protection mode. We take out the filters, we clean the filters, we put them back in and reset the breakers. It runs OK for a day and I wake up in the morning and the lights are flashing again, it’s gone into protection mode AGAIN! Going to be calling them to pick this piece of poo up! This is ridiculous!

Ive had multiple pump issues, keeps tripping breaker.
I have called them out once and he said he cant make it trip, the same day we got in hot tub and tripped breaker after 10 minutes.

This is my second Grandee, my original one I bought 15 years ago and loved it. Nothing really wrong with it but just wanted to upgrade for better technology such as the sound system, saltwater sanitization, etc. Fits 5 very comfortably but can hold up to 7 people. Wide variety of jets but my favorite is the back massager jets that move up and down your back. Highly recommend Hot Springs for quality.

Multiple failures after two weeks

Love the look of my new Grandee NXT hot tub, but the touchscreen failed after two weeks, and the fountains and other jets are slow and jumpy when they get started... and struggle to keep pressure at times. I expected more quality from a premium-level hot tub.

We like the new Grandee. Excellent features. Was a sticker shock, guess inflation is real.
Still attempting to work out new salt system as the hot tub is at our family vacation home and is not used for weeks at a time. It always seems to register no available chlorine on the test strip regardless of whether we have just arrived and it is set at 3 or when we are there having bumped it up to level 5. We are super-chlorinating with one cup Clorox sanitizing NON-scented Bleach. Next time we will try using the 24 hour boost cycle
And MPS. A SHEET of BEST PRACTICES. For salt systems would be welcome.
